As global attention focuses on Pakistan hosting critical talks between the United States and Iran, sections of Indian media are facing criticism for continuing negative narratives instead of acknowledging Pakistan’s diplomatic role.
Reports suggest that some Indian TV channels invited international affairs experts in an attempt to criticize Pakistan, but the effort backfired. Clips of foreign analysts and diplomats challenging Indian anchors are now widely circulating on social media.
In one instance, controversial Indian anchor Arnab Goswami questioned Chinese analyst Victor Gao about the conflict. Gao began his response by praising Pakistan’s role in facilitating the talks, saying it deserved credit for creating the environment for negotiations. The anchor reportedly interrupted him shortly after.
In another viral clip, a U.S. diplomat, Jeffrey Gunther, responded sharply to an Indian anchor who questioned the safety of U.S. Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Pakistan.
Gunther dismissed the concerns, stating that Vance would be completely safe in Pakistan, and criticized the tone of the discussion. He compared the behavior of the channel to that of “schoolchildren” and emphasized the seriousness of the situation.
He added that the issue involves human lives, global stability, and economic impacts, including rising fuel prices and jobs, and should not be reduced to a Pakistan-India rivalry.
The incidents have sparked debate online, with many pointing out the contrast between global diplomatic efforts and media narratives.
