Before the match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021, United’s Fawad Ahmed’s corona test came positive, after which the match was postponed till 9 o’clock.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed in a statement on Twitter that “the test of the player of one of the teams involved in this evening’s match has come positive”.
“The player showed symptoms two days ago and was immediately sent to isolation,” the statement said.

The PCB said that the tests of other players of the said team have come negative while the players of the other team are also being tested.

The PCB said in another tweet that the match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators would start at 9 p.m.
A player from one of the sides featuring in this evening’s match has tested positive. The player had showed symptoms two days ago and had been immediately isolated.
Members of his side have tested negative while the players of the other side are being tested.

Islamabad United confirmed on Twitter that “one of our players, Fawad Ahmed, has tested positive and was sent to isolation two days ago.”
“All other players and members of Islamabad United have tested negative and the players have been declared clear for the game,” the statement said.

Islamabad United prayed for Fawad Ahmed’s speedy recovery and said the players were ready for the match at night.
“Now the match is scheduled for 9 pm, all other teams are being tested at the moment, Islamabad United has been declared clear for the game,” the statement said.

It may be recalled that the 12th match of PSL between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators was scheduled at 7 pm but the teams were stopped at the hotel and the match was postponed till the clearance of other players.
Islamabad United is fourth in the tournament with 4 points from 3 matches with 2 wins and 1 loss.
