A new strain of the corona virus, discovered in the European country of Britain on December 14 this month, has reached Singapore after the Asian country of Hong Kong.

However, the government said samples of the new virus were initially found on September 20.
There are 14 mutations in this new type of corona virus, 7 of which are in spike proteins.
It is the same protein that helps the virus enter human cells, and such a large number of mutations are more noticeable than any other type of virus circulating around the world.
According to experts, the results so far show that this new type is prevailing over other types and is causing an increase in cases.
